16/5/2011

Happy residents welcomed local MP Adam Afriyie to cut the ribbon on the Ascot Station improvement works on October, 8th.

The works were financed by the developers of Ascot Business Park, Salmon Harvester Properties Ltd and Raspin Properties and included the resurfacing of the access road, a new footpath, traffic barriers
lighting and directional signs to the station. To the north of the station new bus stops have been installed together with improved pedestrian access.

"We have been orchestrating an upgrade of the area around the station ever since we became involved with the Ascot Business Park site three years ago and this is the final piece of the jigsaw" said joint developer Bill Raspin. "The area immediately around the station was very run down and we have been working with the local residents, councillors, network Rail and SWT to make the area more pleasant for all users of the station. A great team effort."

Local councillor Lynda Yong said "The work at Ascot Station was sorely needed as the rear entrance was looking a bit worse for wear. The improvements which included new signage and resurfacing of the access road have been welcomed by locals and visitors to the Ascot Business Park."
