“There is no previous time in recorded history when the world's temperature has raised so much and so quickly, “ said John Gummer. 
Mankind has been pouring unprecedented amounts of filth into the air ever since the beginning of the industrial revolution. John Gummer emphasised that fossil fuel sources were rapidly being used up and those that were left were becoming more inaccessible and more expensive to extract. As a result traditional fuels are becoming more expensive and need to be replaced.

He emphasised alternative energy sources and methods of reducing energy consumption must be embraced by the corporate world as well as the public. Those who don’t will be left behind and become uncompetitive. Energy efficient developments with low running costs such as Ascot Business Park were the way forward.

A lively question and answer session followed and the “global warming doubters” were given short shrift by Mr. Gummer who said that there was no excuse for ignoring the warning signs. However he said even if the global warming lobby has got it wrong we should be cutting down on wasteful power consumption and seeking out renewable energy sources anyway.
